G&G L85-A2
The L85A2 was a revision of the earlier L85A1, which was intended to fix the teething problems that plagued the gun of British Army. One of the initial complaints about the original was that it didn't feature a magazine release catch guard, which meant that the release catch could easily be caught by the soldiers clothing/attire, therefore unwittingly ejecting the mag. Thus the A2 version features a mag release catch guard to prevent such a thing from occurring. Another issue was the ejection jams, which was commonly attributed to the shape of the cocking handle deflecting spent cartridges back into the port. A new shape cocking handle was used for the A2 to prevent it from happening. Of course, as you may well know, the A2 wasn't a perfect weapon by far, that it rightly deserves to be. As Andy McNab made analogous, the SA80 is a Rolls Royce, albeit a prototype one.
This G&G L85A2 is an aesthetic replica of the L85A2, with the magazine release catch guard as featured on the real one, as well as the A2 revised cocking handle. It still features the spec of the A1 from G&G. It is compatible with Marui M4/M16 mags and features a blowback mechanism, which has improvements over the previous A1 from G&G with a security plate added for improved functionality. Other internal modifications include modified pistons - the second tooth has been removed to reduce the risk of premature engagement which caused problems with the original G&G L85A1.

First let me say that Ive been airsofting for several years and have used every major brand of AEG and after a recent purchase of a G&G L85a2 I have to say I will never buy a gun fro any other company . Although the specs say the gun shoots at 380 but mine chronoed out of the box at 390 which Im sure will drop a little after the gun breaks in but at that point it would still be what G&G says it is.First when preparing to get a L85 I did alot of research and originally was looking at the Star version which is also a nice gun but pricey.Personally the G&G feels much better and closer to the real thing ( I served 12 years with US Army 2 of which was in England)All I can say is that if your looking into getting an L85 dont look any farther then the G&G . Although all the L85 versions out there are good guns the G&G is tops. Star and VFC good guns but made of that crappy metal alloy and there more expensive.G&G great gun and made of steel is cheaper and shoots harder. The only other make that comes close to the G&G is the Army R85 (which is agood gun because its a clone of the G&G but although its cheaper and decent gun you might as well just spend a little more and get the Best. Now I just hope the G&G Scar is just as good as the L85 cause thats my next toy . So in closing I have to say sorry Classic Army , Sorry Vfc and TM well they ve been over rated since CA got their act together

Excellent rifle, G&G has built a solid gun here. It is vary user freindly, even a novice like me can tear it down and put it back together without worrying about what goes where, simply built and simple to use. The rate of fire with a mini battery is ok, but it is absolutly impressive with a 4200 mah battery pack. Easily earns five stars. On a side note,if you buy a large battery make sure you buy one with the seventh cell detatched from the main pack as it will have to fit under the sling screw in the foregrip.
